Reagan Basile ’27
Before starting as an economic research intern at Vanguard this summer, I traveled through the northern Rockies and the Great Lakes to study how land conservation gets funded. My route ran from Denver to Jackson Hole, through Yellowstone and Idaho, on to Montana to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and then east to the Michigan shoreline, ending up back in Philadelphia. At each place, I looked into the mix of public, private, and philanthropic capital behind protecting the land and how that mix shapes the surrounding economy. The experience was spurred by my interest in impact investing and how it is being applied to our national parks.
Reagan Basile is a business major and data science minor from Douglassville, Pennsylvania. He attended The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He has served as social chair, rush chair, and #2 and will serve as a pledge educator this fall.
